Wine Australia is hosting an afternoon trade and media tasting in New York City on April 17th, 2013 from 1:00-4:00pm to look at the ‘Next Chapter’ of Australian wine.
What’s the latest with the Australian category and what’s on the horizon? Our afternoon tasting will be a one-stop shop to get up to speed on Australia.
TRADE TASTING
Wineries will showcase new releases and vintages, diverse and modern styles, beloved classics and interesting varieties.
SHIRAZ FOCUS TABLE
Discover the changing world of Australian Shiraz through its regions. From cool-climate to warm-climate styles, the diversity of Shiraz will be revealing and suprising.
BLIND TASTING CHALLENGE
Test your palate with a global blind comparative tasting. The top taster will win a trip to Savour Australia in September 2013 (visit www.wineaustralia.com for more details on Savour) Hint, Hint: attending the seminar will help with the challenge.

In Classic, Contemporary and Curious Australia, Wine Australia's Education Director, Mark Davidson and Suzanne Barros, New York-based Education Manager, will moderate a panel of New york City trade for a look at what's new for Australia. The seminar will start off by exploring emerging varieties and styles; next, you'll look at the exciting evolution of Chardonnay; and finally, you'll explore Shiraz and see how viticulture, site and shifting attitudes have affected Australia's champion variety.
