Qantas: Award winning wines and inflight dining
It's been a vintage year for Qantas Inflight dining. In 2011, we celebrated two important events - the 15th anniversary of our relationship with Chef Neil Perry and our most successful year yet at the annual Cellars in the Sky Awards 2010.
Qantas is the recipient of six out of 13 of the prestigious awards, including Best First and Business Class Cellar, Best First Class White, Red and Sparkling, and Consistency Across Business and First Class Cellars.
Airline food and beverage has undergone something of a revolution in the last decade, reflecting increasingly sophisticated consumer palates and expectations. Qantas has been at the forefront of this change, working closely with Australia's most respected winemakers and providores, and introducing programs such as Sommeliers in the Sky.
Enjoy the journey.

Riedel: The Key to Wine
With over 250 years of experience in glassmaking, Riedel revolutionized simple glassware when Claus J. Riedel, 9th generation, designed the first collection of varietal-specific stemware in the 1970s.
Working with experienced tasters and winemakers, Riedel discovered that wine enjoyed from his glasses showed more depth and better balance. He laid the groundwork for stemware that was purposefully designed as well as beautiful, and made according to the Bauhaus design principle: form follows function. His masterpiece “Sommeliers” set the precedent for a range of series, designed specifically to enhance the wine’s harmony.
Each Riedel in the family’s history has contributed to the company’s success and driven the brand forward, with new ideas and daring design concepts. Riedel is renowned for quality and purpose, and offers products that are not just glasses but tools for wine enjoyment.
